Committees

USCCE Committees

As a non-profit leadership organization, the work of the USCCE is driven by individuals within coaching, coaching education and coach development who are passionate about quality, evidence-based practices that support coach education and coach development professionals and their work and coaches across all contexts and domains of sport in the great work they do to create healthy, safe and productive sport participation and performance experiences for athletes of all levels. 

The USCCE has a number of committees and has opportunities for members who are interested in assisting with committee projects and initiatives.  Individuals in academic and non-academic positions and current students are encouraged to joining a USCCE committee that interests them.  Specific qualifications for each committee leadership team are listed with the committee descriptions.

Coach Developer Network & Academy Committee

Chair – Cara Cocchiaraella

The Coach Development Committee is responsible for supporting and overseeing the activities within the USCCE’s Coach Developers Network.  The Coach Developers Network provides evidence-based resources for individuals who work in coaching education and coach development, supports the continued development of the professional field of coaching education and coach development, and houses the Coach Developers’ Academy.  This committee is open to members who have been a part of an ICCE or USCCE/ICCE coach development program.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee

Chair – Jennifer Roth

The Diversity & Inclusion Committee is responsible for supporting diversity and inclusion within coach education, coach development, and the support of the profession of coaching. This is a member interest-driven committee that encourages both individual collaboration and collective efforts to support the work of the USCCE.  This committee is open to academic and non-academic based professionals and students.

Engagement Events Committee

Chair – Roch King

The Engagement Event Committee is responsible for developing and running the USCCE Engagement Events, a virtual event series that provides networking and communication opportunities about issues and topics essential to coach education, coach development and professionalism in coaching.  This committee is open to academic and non-academic based professionals and students.

LTAD & Coaching Committee

Co-chair – Rick Howard, Anthony Moreno, & Joe Eisenmann

The LTAD & Coaching Committee is responsible for supporting the integration of evidence-based practice related to long term athletic development core concepts and coaching education and coach development.  This is a member interest-driven committee that encourages both individual collaboration and collective efforts to support the work of the USCCE.  This committee is open to academic and non-academic based professionals and students.

Professionalism & Coaching Committee

The Professionalism Coaching Committee is responsible for exploring and developing ways in which the USCCE can work to support the profession of coaching across sport levels and domains within the United States.  This is a member interest-driven committee that encourages both individual collaboration and collective efforts to support the work of the USCCE.  This committee is open to academic and non-academic based professionals and students.

PR & Outreach Committee

The PR & Outreach Committee is responsible for raising awareness of the issues and concerns related to coach education and coach development.  This committee is open to academic and non-academic based professionals and students.

Research Committee

Chair – Melissa Thompson

The Research Committee is responsible for exploring and developing ways in which the USCCE can work to support the development and dissemination of evidence-based practice within the fields of coaching education, coach development, and the profession of coaching.  This committee is open to academic and non-academic based professionals and students.

Summit Planning Committee

Chair – Meghan Halbrook

The Summit Planning Committee is responsible for planning the summit program.  This includes providing keynote recommendations to the Board of Directors, conducting the call for program submissions, assisting in sponsorship development, creating the summit schedule, monitoring the Summit communications, and some on-site during the event duties. Members of the Summit Planning Committee serve on a 2-year basis.  The Summit Planning committee leadership core is comprised of 6 members. Academic and non-academic based professionals and students can all serve on this committee.
